.

The majority of work is completed by me, Jake. I am a contractor by profession, but also a creative carpenter at heart.

I am involved in the initial onsite introduction, drawings and design, project managing and hands-on manual labor - yes, I still throw on the tool belt every day! We utilize licensed professionals for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc. as needed. Be assured that only subcontractors who have shown a high level of craftsmanship, honesty, respect and overall positive attitudes are affiliated with Ausjac Building Company.

Regardless, I will be the one who personally does all the work and cleans up at the end of every day. I'll walk you through the finished product to make sure we are in agreement that the job is complete, and expectations met before signing off. You can be confident that I'll deliver exactly what I promised.

Carpentry is in my blood. From very early on I was around wood workshops, tools and sawdust.

A lesson that I'll never forget, was figuring out that I could create something special with my own two hands.

My father built our two family homes I was raised in - he renovated a beautiful old cottage in Adelaide, South Australia, and then built a new construction cedar clad rancher near Sydney, New South Wales.

He owned a small kitchen cabinetry business, fabricating and installing them himself.

I grew up helping (or probably annoying) him in his workshop, and by the time I was in my mid-teens I was helping him with installs on the weekends.

After meeting my wife, Cat, in Sydney, Australia, her upward trajectory in her career landed us in Austin, Texas.

We set up camp there for a handful of years, and we now reside back in her hometown in Fallston, Maryland. Here we plan to raise our two kids, our dogs, and live a happy, fulfilled life.

I have run successful businesses in Australia, Texas and Maryland. I have left many great projects and happy clients in my wake, as my reviews show. I've worked as a project manager for a high end, custom home building company in Austin (Waller Building Company), where I was in complete control of large-scale projects. After years of building custom homes from the ground up I have learned many skills. I am constantly navigating ways to better my craft, and I plan to do so until the day I hang up the tool belt.

You can trust my passion.

I enjoy sitting down and sketching designs with my ideas flowing. I enjoy having my earmuffs on, power tools blazing, working on a big build or even something small for my wife.

But most of all I love standing back at the end of the day to appreciate a finished project... staring from every angle, admiring even the smallest of details, soaking it in, knowing the joy it's going to bring. It's what brings enjoyment to my life.
